Styles
Styles are used to format text and paragraphs quickly. It's effectively one-click formatting.
Perhaps you want to re-format a sentence as Times New Roman, 12 point, bold, and colored red. You can do this easily in TexNotes Pro, of course, but it does take several clicks to accomplish. If you need to do this several times, it's much more efficient to add this Text Format Style to the Styles library.

Style Tools |
Click Text and Paragraph Styles in the Tools menu, or the button almost in the center of the toolbar at the bottom of the TexNotes Pro window. This displays the Tools Styles panel.
This panel (illustrated below) includes some Text Format Styles and Paragraph Styles.
You can replace these with your own, or delete those you don't need. Just highlight the Text or Paragraph style, and click Delete Style on the styles toolbar. (Or select the style, and press the keyboard delete key.)

Using a Text Format Style |
This example assumes you have applied the Times New Roman font, bold, italic, 14 point size, color red, to the word sample.
You can then add this style to the collection of Text Format Styles. Make sure the Tools Styles panel is displayed, and click anywhere on the word sample. Then click Text Format Styles in the panel to select it, and finally click the Add Text Style From Selection button on the Styles toolbar.
By default, the name appears as Normal Text. Right-click this name (or [F2]) to type a more descriptive name like Bold Red.
You can use this new text style wherever you want. For example, you may want to apply it from this point onward. Just double-click the newly created Text Format Style and continue typing. This Style continues until changed to something else, such as Normal text from the Text Format Styles, or by using the Font Format toolbar.
You can also apply Styles by selecting the style and clicking the Use Style button, or the Styles right-click menu.

Creating a Text Format Style |
First, bring the Styles properties panel into view if it isn't already visible.

on the TexNotes Pro status bar, or choose Tools from the Tools menu.
The Styles panel is one of the tabbed panels within the Tools panel (by default). Click the Styles tab to make it active. If the Styles properties panel is hidden, it can be made visible by using Text and Paragraph Styles from the Tools menu.
The Styles panel contains a few basic Text Format Styles
and Paragraph Styles
. You don't need to use them. You can replace these with your own, or delete the ones you don't need.
Just highlight the style (text or paragraph) and click Delete Style
, or simply select it and press the [Delete] key. Additional access to all commands is available from the Styles right-click menu.

Use the Move up and Move down Styles buttons to organize the order of your styles.

.

Paragraph Styles |
Adding and applying Paragraph Styles uses the same procedure as Text Format Styles.
The only difference is that you use paragraph formatting instead of text formatting. Detailed information can be found in Paragraphs & Tabulations and Paragraph Borders.
