Layouts
Customizing Toolbars explains how to re-arrange panels and customize toolbars. This effectively makes a base for a new Layout.
Like customized toolbars, TexNotes Pro Layouts are linked to the selected Advanced or Simple mode.

Saving Layouts |
The Layout facility allows you to arrange different layouts, and save them for future use.
It's dead easy. Say you are in Simple mode. You have customized your toolbars, and now want to add the final touches by re-positioning certain panels and toolbars, and deciding which are visible. Once you have a layout that you like, save it.
You save your current layout in the View menu, using Change Layout. Then choose Save Current Layout as.
You might have selected Save Current Layout instead, but in some cases this is not wise. When you use Save Current Layout, you overwrite the existing Current Layout with the new one.

Multiple Layouts |
If you forget to save your last created layout, TexNotes Pro automatically remembers it the next time you start.
What if you want to have more than one layout and switch between layouts as required? To do this, simply create all the layouts you want in various modes, and save them under different names. TexNotes Pro keeps all the Layout files in the TexNotes Pro/Layouts folder by default.

Layout Chooser |
In addition to opening a Layout from the View menu, and then selecting Change Layout and clicking Open, you can also use the more visual Layout Chooser dialog box. You can access this by clicking the Layout button
on the main toolbar, or from the View menu, select Change Layout, then Layout Chooser.

The Layout Chooser dialog box shows a small preview image of the selected layout. These images are manually captured, and place in the TexNotes Pro/Layouts folder.
If you want to have a preview image for your own Layouts, take a picture (screen capture) of the TexNotes Pro window with the Layout active. Then resize the image and put it in the TexNotes Pro/Layouts folder. Make sure the layout filename and the preview image filename are the same. The recommended image format is PNG.

Switching Modes |
It's possible to switch layouts at any time. However, if you are in Simple mode and open a Layout originally created in Advanced mode, you'll not see all the toolbars and buttons you specified. It's best to avoid this confusion, so use each Layout in its appropriate mode.
