Anchors
Anchors are little markers inserted into a Note to pinpoint a precise location.
Bookmarks are useful when locating a document within a file, but they don't mark points within individual documents. Instead, Anchors are used. They are like bookmarks, but they are visible only when the Note they are in is being displayed.
Anchors have two main purposes:
Setting Anchors
To set an anchor, right-click anywhere in the paragraph you wish to mark. From the context menu, select Insert. From the secondary menu, select Anchor.
Or, click anywhere in the paragraph and press [Ctrl+F11].
The tiny red anchor symbol appears in the left margin at the first line of the paragraph.
Using Anchors within a Note
If you're using anchors within a particular Note, you may want to display the Anchors tab in the right-hand tool panel. To display the Anchors tab, click View on the main menu, and select Anchors. The tools panel opens on the right side of TexNotes Pro, with the Anchors tab selected. This tab lists all the anchors on the current page.

You can use the toolbar in the Anchor panel to insert, delete, edit, or go to individual anchors in the current Note. Anchors in other Notes aren't visible unless you switch to one of those other Notes.
Jumping to Anchors by Using Hyperlinks
Anchors are also useful for providing a target for a hyperlink. Hyperlinks are used extensively on web pages. They appear as blue underlined text, and when you click them, the browser jumps to another location on the page, or on any other page.
In TexNotes Pro, you can set hyperlinks to do many things, one of which is to jump to an anchor set anywhere in your document. To find out more about TexNotes Pro hyperlink capabilities, [Ctrl-click] this hyperlink. (To return to this Note, click the Back button
in the main toolbar, just like in a browser.)
The example hyperlink above jumped to a particular Note. If you wanted to jump to a location within the Note, you would need to set an Anchor at that location, and then set the hyperlink to go to that specific Anchor. To make this easier, it's a good idea to name the anchor so you can recognize it when you're setting up the hyperlink. Here's a hyperlink that jumps to an anchor in the Advanced section of the Note on hyperlinking.
Perhaps you want to add an Anchor to the start of the next paragraph. To do this:
Move the cursor to the start of the next paragraph, then select Insert Anchor from the Insert menu. Alternatively, click the Anchors button at the bottom of the canvas to open the toolbar. This toolbar contains additional buttons for other useful tasks when working with Anchors.
This is the paragraph with an anchor. A bookmark has been added so that you can see it clearly.
After you've added an Anchor, the new name is shown in the Anchors tool list. You can rename it by double-clicking or using the Rename Anchor button on the Anchors toolbar.

Reminder |
Anchors are very useful when you have large Notes where you have to scroll to view all the contents.
