Adding Flag Markers
TexNotes Pro provides numerous features to make it easy to organize information creatively.
Notes are often in a state of flux, constantly changing as you do more research, and make revisions. To help keep track, it can be very useful to flag Notes for further attention.
There are two ways to flag a Note in the Outline. You can use special flag icons alongside each Note's main icon, and/or display a flag name in one of Outline's additional columns.
If you set Navigator Outline to display flag icons, a simple click on the icon displays a list of available icons (which is also customizable), so you can quickly adjust the status of any item.
If you configure Outline to show the Flag Marker Column, then you can also see the name of the flag in that column. You can also sort the Outline by the contents of any column. You could, for example, use flags to set a rating for a list of movie reviews, or to indicate which Notes have been edited and approved.
Flag icons and the flag name column can be displayed independently.

Displaying Flag Markers |
To display Flag Icons, right-click any Note in the Outline. From the popup menu, select Outline Display. From the second pop-up menu, click Show Flag Next to Name. (From this same submenu, you can also uncheck Show Outline Icons so that only the flag markers are displayed.)

To display Flag Names, right-click any column heading in Outline, click Outline Header Columns, and choose Flag Marker from the submenu.

You may need to adjust the heading column widths (by dragging the border between column heads), or scroll the Navigator window, to see the Flag Marker column.
When a Note has no flag set, the Flag Marker column displays a blank name, but the Flag Icon is displayed as a small gold dot.
To add a Flag Marker, right-click the gold dot (or any existing flag icon) next to the Note icon, and then pick the marker you want from the popup list. The Flag Marker list also appears in the Navigator main menu section, under Set Flag Marker.
If Flag Marker icons are not displayed, you can find the same Flag Marker list under the item Flag Marker in the right-click menu for any Note.
If Flag Names are not displayed (or the Flag Marker column isn't visible), you can read the flag name in the Status Window at the bottom left corner of TexNotes Pro; just float the cursor over the flag icon.

Customizing the Flag Marker List |
A default list of Flag Markers is provided, but you'll probably want to edit this list. To do this, first access the Flag Marker list. (Click Flag Marker icon, or find the Flag Marker list in a Note's context menu, or use the Navigator main menu). Then click Edit Flag Markers.

The Flag Editing window looks like this:

To change a Flag Marker icon, just click one, (or select a Flag Marker and click Icon), to display a panel of available icons:

Click an icon to assign it to the selected Flag Marker.
To change a Flag Marker's name, either click the name again, or click Edit at the top of the window. Type the new name, and press [Enter] to finish.
When the Flag Marker edit panel is open, you can also change the order of the markers, add new markers, and delete markers.

Note |
Changing or deleting an existing Flag Marker affects the whole Flag Markers display. Existing ones reflect changes by showing the new icon and its new name accordingly. For example, say you changed Done and Completed to a Santa icon labeled Presents. When the changes are applied, all the displayed Done and Completed Flag Marker icons are changed to a Santa icon with a tool tip reading Presents.
